Looking for a place to garden? Or maybe you’ve never gardened before and would like to give it a try. Maybe after sitting in an office all day, you have a desire to simply dig in the dirt in a safe and peaceful environment with other people doing the same. And, of course, you just know the fresh vegetables you pick off your own plants will be several times tastier than what you get at the grocery store.
If the idea appeals to you, then join us at the First Presbyterian Church (FPC) of Tracy property located at the intersection of MacArthur Drive, Mount Diablo Avenue and Third Street. FPC transformed an unused piece of land into the first in the city community garden that is available to all residents of Tracy and surrounding areas.

Pat Davis inspired the Community Garden, the late wife of former pastor Stan Davis, who had a lifelong desire to provide a place where people could gather and grow food for themselves and charity. From that simple, generous idea, it motivated us to lay out plans, work with City leaders and develop 44 plots, each one 25 x 12 feet with a dedicated water outlet. A fence of berries surrounds the garden. For the past years, several plots have been allocated toward harvesting vegetables for Tracy Interfaith Ministries and McHenry House Tracy Family Shelter.
An upfront deposit and yearly fee are required. The garden is strictly organic (no pesticides or chemicals) and a limited use of fertilizers is suggested. For more information, call 835-3247, mailto:[email protected] or take a look at our Garden Flyer —>
